Thanks for coming out to Winter Soup #11!

Earlier last week, 106 wonderful Soupers showed their support for six amazing local initiatives at
Arts Court Theatre for Soup Ottawa’s 11th event! MLT DWN spoiled us with their Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato Bisque soup and freshly pressed grilled cheese (we’re drooling just thinking about it).
A HUGE thank you goes out to Arts Court and MLT DWN (located at the Rideau Centre) for partnering with us for this event!
The winner, as voted by you, was “ManUp” who took home a whopping $1,060! ManUp is a student-led group looking to change the way we treat women and they’ll be using their funding towards bringing guest speakers such as Mr. Glen Canning (father of the late Rehtaeh Parsons, Victim of Gender Violence) and Julie Barbosa (survivor of years of battery at the hands of her father. Julie and her brother broke the cycle of violence following the murder of their mother at the hands of their father) to their ManUp Inspire Conference in May 2016. Follow their progress on twitter @ManUpLDHSS and check out their website for more information: www.setanewstandard.ca.
We want to thank all of our presenters who came out and got up on stage to pitch their wonderful projects.
Don’t forget to follow us on twitter @SoupOttawa, and tag yourselves and your friends in our photo gallery on Facebook!

Soup Ottawa #17: Fall 2018

Next Event: October 25, 2018
Where: 330 Kent Street, Ottawa

How Does It Work?

Soup Ottawa is a micro-grant event that focuses on two things: good soup and funding community projects. For $10, attendees gets a bowl of locally-made soup and freshly-baked bread – and one vote! Presenters show off their projects, and the project that receives the most votes wins all money raised.

Because Soup Ottawa operates with zero-overhead costs, if 100 people show up, that’s $1,000 for the winning project. For past winners, see our past events.

Stay Up-To-Date
